Bath City are pleased to announce the signing of Welsh International keeper Glyn Garner.
Garner, a native of Pontypool, broke into the Football League in 2000 at age 23 with Bury FC. After 140 appearances in five years with the Shakers he was signed by Leyton Orient. Two years later he left the O’s for Shrewsbury Town where a spate of injuries kept him out of the first team for nearly two years. Since leaving Shrewsbury he has played for Grays Athletic and was the reserve goalkeeper for Newport County last season.
Garner has been selected Wales national football team twice and won an international cap against Trinidad and Tobago in 2006.
Garner was recommended to Bath City manager Adie Britton by assitant manager Lee Howells. A contract was signed tonight.
When asked why he wanted to sign for Bath City, Garner explained, “I like the feel of the club. This is a club that wants to progress, and I want to play football.”
